SONAR X1 tips in Sound on Sound

Craig Anderton's SONAR Tips column in the latest SOS has a nice overview of X1.  Just a head's up.

    Saw that. Are those 7th Circle preamps in your avatar?

    The real jewel in the last two issues is the break down of microphones, preamps, compressors for tracking and the mixing plugins ins for the Band of Joy album (Robert Plant) and the Mine album (Taylor Swift). Great articles which walk through the step by step process of making those two really well mixed albums.

    haven't gotten to those yet - my issue came yesterday.  I'll give those a read for sure.  But today, I bought an viewsonic gtablet, so I've been busy playing with it.  I'm hoping CW brings out an app for it to control X1.

    And no, that's not 7th circle.  It is an RND Portico II.  My phone camera didn't do it justice.

    AT , I guess they can make the SDK of certain bits to control it to others maybe..

    or if you can get something like a bridge between the 2 things?

    Middleman, true that.  I wish I could afford another.  But it is sweet going in.

    Fog, PreSonus just released an android controller for their DAW.  I'm hoping it is the next big thing, esp. with Cake. 

    Still, the tablet itself is pretty cool.  Of course, now I've got to get a wireless keyboard, a bigger mini SD, etc. etc.  It never ends, but it is a pretty good replacement for a laptop everyday, no music tasks.  And I scored points with my boy since it has "angry birds" pre-loaded.
