SONAR X1Essential and sidechaining

Hi all

I know I will be **** slapped for this question, but....

Is it possible to do side-chaining using a side-chain compressor such as ducking in SONAR X1 Essential?

If so, could some tell me in simple child like language how to do it.

I have tried and tried, but I can't seem to get it to work

Thanks again

    Flux,

Welcome to the forums! First off, there's nothing wrong with asking questions here. After all, that's why the forum exists.

Side-chaining in SONAR basically works like this ...

    1. Insert Side-chainable effect (Sonitus Compressor, Sonitus Gate, etc.) on destination track (the track to be compressed, gated, etc.)

    2. Create a Send on the source track (the track you want to trigger the side-chained effect with)

    3. Route the send to the Side-chainable plugin you inserted in step one (will show towards the bottom of the list)

    4. Adjust the Comp/ Gate/ etc. to taste
