your right its not free, they just gave it to you with your Roland Duo-Capture EX Audio Interface.
consider it a gift.
those versions aren't even as good as the 30 day free trial.
its a stripped down version of sonar essentials which is the entry level sonar x1
LE versions may it be sonar, pro tools ,Cubase are pretty much all the same, they're a product to give you a chance to try it out and think about upgrading to the real thing.
I couldn't honestly think about doing any professional work/even demo quality work on LE versions, like sonar, pro tools ,Cubase.
ive had quite a few LE versions, but there more like trials and in some cases don't give you as much as the 30 day trials.
not trying to discourage you, because you would benefit from upgrading to sonar x2 (buying a version)
but with x2 6 months in to its course, X1 LE versions are below the entry level sonar software.
not trying to be harsh, just telling you like it is, I could sugar coat it, but I think you would rather hear the truth :)
that is a smiley face I just left you :) <<<-- theres another one.
kick the tires on it a little bit, try it out, if you think its where you want to go, buy it, you wont regret it.
the LE version will also give you a chance to see how your rig co-operates with it.
if you want to get a better look at it, donw load a copy of the 30 day free trial, you might find that has many more options and I believe comes with many more plug ins.
like I said, I have many le versions, one that came with my cakewalk v studio was guitar tracks 4 LE.
I gave it a shoot, I like it, but im a producer, I need the best one can get.
best of luck
