SONAR X2 Pre-sale, what do I really get with the pre-sale?

  Just and only... "By participating in the pre-sale, you will receive the SONAR X2 download one day before it goes on sale to the general public later this month."? :-) Zouki

    ABSOLUTELY FREE!

    AND if you buy it now...you get your Serial # NOW, and you can upgrade to either of the FULL
    versions of TH-2 or Breverb....AND you can buy Media from 
    the Cakewalk store right away (even though it won't ship until 
    the Product is available) so that you can experience
    the joy of getting disks too before anyone else!!!

    DSF Strings is only available to "Early adoters", i.e. pre-sales. 

    I bought X1 in August because of the offer to upgrade to X2 for free, and didn't think I was going to get the free symphonic strings. Yet there they are, in my downloads. I'm very happy about that because at the time when it looked like they were only going to be available to pre-sale customers, I felt a little cheated because I (somewhat liberally) considered my purchase of X1 to be a "sort of" pre-sale of X2. Didn't expect to get them at all, so very pleased!

    Yes, you are right! But I think the Cakes marketing is really strange and sometimes "agressive" without any real deal. Don't get me wrong, I mean, there is an offer, the offer ends, a new offer just coming right after, even better!... Short, just buy it if you need it, don't wait for an offer, there is always a new one on its way :-)

Answer - exactly the same as everyone else apart from having to pay for it weeks in advance without being entirely sure exactly when you would get it, but rest assured important customers, we promise you'll get it a whole day before anyone else!

    The conflicting messages/marketing coming from CW these days is just ridiculous and just counteracts all the things they do well.

    It's in the buy it now email I got last night too...
     
    Also today I can get an upgrade for 8.5 Producer until the end of October via a local retailer for £20 cheaper than an existing X1 Producer owner can from the Cakewalk store.  It's £80 cheaper buying it that way than I can get the same thing directly from Cakewalk for. 
     
    Go figure.  Certainly shop around.
     
    But yes some got it a day early so rejoice!

    I think the DSF strings deal is good till the end of the month. 

    I got X2 after the pre sale and I still got the
    strings free. 

    … and it seems every time I buy something it
    goes on special right after I buy it! Or the next
    special is something I already have…Drats!

    Those of us who upgraded to Production Suite for $100 got a welcomed surprise too.  Thinking we were only gonna get the PC4K expander/limiter and the upgrade to full Rapture with the "Suite" upgrade...we got the Symphonic Strings too...!

    I just used them on a project today...!  Thank You CW...!
