SONAR X3 - Panoramic settings ignored when exporting audio

Hi everybody,
Does anybody know why Sonar X3 ignores my tracks panoramic settings when exporting audio?
I double checked the preferences and checked all relevant options in the export dialog box, no way José...
The exported wav file is not having the same panoramic settings than when I play the tracks in Sonar...
Every tracks seems to be in center position.
Any clue?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Eric.

Check your routing. The only way that the exported audio can be different from what you've been hearing is if the routing is different.

Make sure all your tracks are going into the master bus rather than direct to the audio device. Quick way to check that is to mute the master bus and verify that everything goes silent. Any tracks still heard are bypassing the master. This is assuming the master bus output is routed to the audio hardware, as it should be. Nothing else should be routed to hardware.

Then have a look at your export settings. Make sure the source is "Entire Mix", that all the options (e.g. track automation, track fx, etc.) are all enabled, and the format is Stereo.

There are other ways to mess up pan positions, e.g. setting the interleave to Mono or using a mono effect on the master bus. But those would also affect what you hear, not just the exported file.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your detailed response.
I already checked all what you are suggesting.
In the mean time, I found out that any music player outside Sonar, not using ASIO as its audio driver, is having the problem. I cannot stop using ASIO in Sonar, as it is much more efficient for big projects tahn standard Windows MME driver.
My next question is then, how can people using an audio player without ASIO driver (like BS Player for example) listen to my music with proper pan / volumes???

Cheers,
Eric.

... and I cannot ask to people to download and install an ASIO plugin for their player because most of them would not have any clue about what I mean, right?

Make sure your channel format box in the export dialogue window is stereo and not mono.  I've missed that one before.

p.s. It really pays to put your system specs in your post or signature.

This sounds like an issue with the configuration of your computer.  What player are you using and have you tried any others?

Might also help if you list the spec of your machine and the audio interface you are using. Most people list it in their profile signature.

Hi Karhide,
It does not work with BS Player (no ASIO plugin available), but it works fine with WinAmp as long as you install its ASIO plugin.

It also works fine with Sony SoundForge 11 as long as you configure it to use ASIO driver.

What do you mean Karhide? The port on my PC from which the sound is coming out?
