SONAR X3 and TASCAM 16x08 problem

When I try to open Sonar X3 with the new TASCAM 16x08 operating/driver interface open, Sonar does not finish opening - it hangs up.  But, when I shut off the 16x08 and the driver interface says lost the device, Sonar X3 loads up properly.  Then I can turn on the 16x08 and reopen the driver inteface.   Sonar X3 and the 16x08 work together fine (limited testing so far).  This procedure works but is clumsy.

I'm new to the 16x08 audio interface.  So, this might be the 16x08, the Sonar software/use or my own problem.  I've used a ProFire 610 with Sonar X3 for over a a year and never had this kind of issue.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I also have the 16x08, but have only been using it with Sonar Platinum.  I just opened X3e to see how it would work and X3e started up fine with the 16x03 settings panel open.  No hangs or other problems.

    My system is Win8.1x64.

Sorry I can't help more than to say they are compatible.

Rename your aud.ini file aud.old or something similar and launch sonar to build a new one. Sometimes this helps. If you experience issues just revert to the renamed aud file.

Thanks Bob and Swamptooth ... I'm getting there.  I renamed the aud.ini file and opened X3 to get a new aud file.  Not sure if this helped but it cleared out a bunch of old stuff, no longer needed.  Made sure software/drivers were up to date.  And - still Sonar would hanged with the 16x08 on and the device panel open.

I tried one more approach.  With the 16x08 on, I closed the device panel and opened Sonar X3.  It did not hang.  Hurrah.  Then I opened the device panel and it worked, too.   I'm going to kick this around awhile before declaring victory.  But this procedure is easy enough until I determine how to get around it.  Not sure why Sonar needs exclusive access to the 16x08 (guess its the driver) but then all works when the device panel subsequently accesses the 16x08.

    Thanks again.   Fred
