I never had Kontakt 1, but have K2, K3 and K4 and one might speculate that the same directory naming convention has been in place all along.
Factory content for the later versions can be found in folders named "Kontakt 2 Library", "Kontakt 3 Library" and "Kontakt 4 Library", so I'd expect the K1 libraries to be in "Kontakt 1 Library" or perhaps just "Kontakt Library".
The actual instruments usually have .NKI extensions, or .NKM for multiple-instrument collections. You may also need to copy the samples (wav files) that the .nki references, which are typically not stored in the same folder. The exception are "monolithic" .nki files, meaning the sample wave files are rolled up into the .nki file itself, making it easier to transport. You can tell which ones those are because they are enormous.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.
