SONAR won't use mouse commands

I have a mouse with a few buttons on it that I have programmed to play keystrokes I use often in Sonar. All of a sudden Sonar doesn't recognize when I hit these buttons. Running the mouse in Notepad shows that the keystrokes are getting sent properly, and typing the keystrokes in by hand in Sonar works fine. But using the mouse buttons in Sonar does not work. This has been working fine for a few years. All of a sudden, not. Why might this be?

OK, no responses, but for the sake of documentation, in case anyone else runs across it, here is the solution:

I installed JBridge because someone told me it was better with 32-bit plug-ins than BitBridge. But then I got an error saying I needed to run Sonar in Administrator mode for JBridge to work. But running in Administrator mode, for whatever stupid reason, means that Sonar won't recognize mouse buttons that are assigned to keystrokes, even though those mouse buttons work everywhere else. I opened Sonar without using Administrator mode, and the mouse works fine (though JBridge now gives me an error).

You might need to make sure SONAR has the input focus when you hit your additional mouse buttons.  I had a Contour controller that had that problem.  It would send key sequences to whatever application had the input focus.  That became an issue when I had a text document up with lyrics for a song I was recording.  If the text app had the input focus, the Contour controller started doing stupid stuff to the document...instead of smart stuff to SONAR.

This is a Windows thing, not a Sonar thing. Programs run in administrator mode are isolated from programs not run in administrator mode in a number of ways. For example, you can't drag audio in from Windows Explorer if Sonar is being run in administrator mode.

Makes sense. Is there a way to get my mouse keystrokes to run in Administrator mode?

Side note: Sometimes I marvel at how in music school in college everything was about A flat min 7's and Phrygian scales, and here I am asking if my friggin' mouse keystrokes can be run in Administrator mode.

Depends on what you are using to send the keystrokes. Presumably there is a program running under Windows that does that. Find the executable for that program where it is located in Windows Explorer. Right click on the exe file. Click properties. Click the compatibility tab. Click change settings for all users. Type in an administrator password if required. Under the compatibility for all users tab click run this program as administrator.
