imo, there's really too many to list. But a snappier, more solid software program kind of is always there, even if I mention something else first. The fact that there are "so many" might be my favorite, as it shows the strong interest in keeping the product as best it can be. Hopping on Win10 compatibility quickly was nice to see. I've used the drum replacer, vocal align and the style dials... items I didn't think I'd need, but are now great to use. Live synth recording has been great! Patch points too.

First off I think the design team deserves major kudos. That's a very impressive track record. You can all look back on it and be very proud. I love all the fixes under the hood. I confess I haven't used all of the features. The vocal alignment tool is wonderful. Drum replacement along with the ARA improvements are major leaps ahead. Plug-in upsampling is one of those things that I didn't know I needed. I love it. All of the additions and improvements to the PC making it more and more a go to. We have a better midi engine. I love the improvements to the workflow in working with midi, the routing enhancements in audio....the entire list is staggering. GREAT JOB GUYS!!! I'm proud to be a Sonar user!!

Am downloading Lexington. Can't believe how well Cakewalk have kicked Sonar into shape this year. X3 was so good I almost decided I would never upgrade again- just keep a solid static system... But Sonar2015 is snappier, more reliable, has new useability and music creation features that are now crucial. So after 12 updates I'm not asking "will i get another 12 months?" but "I wonder what they will give us over the next year?" . Even the Year in Review page is terrific!

Unfortunately I like just about everything CW added to Sonar during this year. If I were made to pick just one feature that has the most impact to me it would be Mix Recall and the enhancements CW gave it. I see it as a stunning feature that has enormous application. The real problem is that pick is unfair for I love the new start screen for example. Its a pleasure to use, now. The list that CW has in the improvements is long and all are useful. Thus its hard to pick only one. The fact they pulled it off as they have is also stunning. Not one time did they postpone an update or disappoint us. The on screen keyboard is another nice addition. Lets just say thank you to a team that made magic happen and we saw it being done. Wow!

Aux Tracks/Patch Points. ...And everything else. Seriously though, I do use AT/PP the most but have used so much of everything else introduced in 2015 I would never want to "settle" for just one thing. Fortunately with SONAR I do not have to! Bring on SONAR 2016...

I remember the days when reaper users used to come onto our forum and boast about the regularity of their updates. With SPLAT, we are getting much more significant updates/upgrades than they ever did. Some of the monthly updates have included more significant feature enhancements than some competing product's yearly, expensive version upgrades. I don't know how the bakers have been able to keep up the frenetic pace and how they can pack in so much every month or two. All I can say is that the team at Cakewalk should be heartily congratulated. You guys deserve a break - have an awesome Christmas!

As I deal mostly with midi composition of late, I would say the midi overhaul is tops on my list. In a photo finish 2nd are the aux tracks/patch points. I use them on everything now! Make my mixing workflow so much easier and neater. Mix Recall is 3rd (but not forgotten) as it gets more creative use... Of course, every enhancement seems to bring more and more life to Sonar. The optimizations were like a straight shot of adrenaline both for my machine and for my inspiration to just "go make music".. And I think that's what you Bakers intended right? So, I'll get back to it.. Thanks for all the hard work, the landmark year and for continuing to help me make music!

Vocal Alignment, Speed Improvements, Solidity (Solidness?) (Solidarity, Yeah!), Patch Points. The fact that after 12 updates, both my laptop and desktop didn't break once. I did have one issue with some FX Chains not working correctly, but sometime around Jamaica Plain, they too were just silently fixed and now work as expected. Thanks to this forum, Craig and support for their help on that!

What I've found most useful from the last year's updates are . . . new customizable Control Bar, Command Center, Prochannel REmatrix Solo, FX Stacking, ARA Improvements, Rapture Session, Start Screen, Recyclable plugins, improved Audio Snap detection, the monthly Ezine, the Monitorizer plugin, better VST3 compatibility, and all those little things that have added up to making the program snappier, more stable, and an honourable mention for the many miscellaneous bug fixes. When you add in all those additions from this past year that I haven't found that useful . . . well, there's been a lot added to Sonar in this last year, something for everybody I hope. Much thanks and praise to the baker programmers, and let's hope 2016 brings many more Sonar advancements. Happy New Year to all Cakewalk staff and this amazing Forum community !

In terms of workflow, aux tracks, patch points and mix recall have been a revelation, but what pleases me most is that I've enjoyed twelve months of reliable, adaptable and productive recording. The recent optimizations have resulted in a new level of performance which ( even with my relatively average workstation specification), allowed me to work on complex arrangements with absolute confidence. Will I be signing on for another year of updates ? - Without a shred of doubt. Respect to all at Cakewalk and the online community.

I know I sound like a broken record but my favorite Sonar Platinum feature is still this forum. There are so many great adds in the software but coming to the forum and learning how to get the most out of them is what I like best. If I had to limit it to the software itself it would probably be the patch points and aux tracks.

This year has been amazing for SONAR. I've been using it and its predecessors since version 1 for DOS on a 4.25" floppy, and the enhancements this year alone stand out. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the performance related improvements. For someone who puts a lot of hours in using the program, that extra speed and solidity means a whole different experience. I'm actually worried that the pressure to bring out enhancements once a month will lead to rushing out changes that aren't really "done" yet. At the same time, the big recent coding changes lead me to suspect that Gibson is putting more resources into the company; they're going to want a return on that investment, which is fine with me.

I don't recall that being a special surprise, but to each their own. If that's the case, it wasn't my favorite part. I'll go with the speed improvements then, I reckon.

I like some of the project templates. They are pretty interesting and educational. It makes me wonder what someone might say if they saw one of my templates.
I like learning things- consider lots of Craig's FX chains! So useful and educational. I love that the Moneterizer FX chain was open to us. Really I don't understand much of what it is doing. Why delay both right and left channels equally? Why trim the highs? An A/B button that mutes output altogether? And it makes me want to tweak my own FX chain for this purpose which makes sense to me.
Hidden magic is hard to learn from.
In general, I'm a happy user. Waiting on my next fix.
While I know Noel is a genius behind the development of the software, I feel Craig is the genius in charge of the development of me.
Thanks Craig.
StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen. I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.
