SONARDPR.exe will not close hafter a hang....

Hello,

I was wondering if when Sonar X1 crashes (and come on we all get them sometimes... ever try to enter MIDI data while a prompt window was closing? hehe), does SonarDPR.exe refuse to close.

I go to taskmanager and End Process but still nothing.  I always have to wait like 5 minutes before it finally closes.

Was wondering what can be done about this.  Using Sonar X1B + Quickfixes on Windows 7 64 bit.

Thank You,
Adam

When this occurs with my setup, the driver on my M-Audio Axiom is not released for some reason. If I power down the Axiom the EXE closes instantly.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

I remember seeing another thread on the same topic, which suggested that an open midi device is what prevents us from being able to close SonarDPR.exe in the task manager.

But, with the task manager open after an X1 crash, i've tried turing off all my outboard synths and midi controllers (and closing all processes related to my audio interface). But i still couldn't shut off SonarDPR.exe. So when my DAW hangs now, i either reboot or go outside for a cigarette.

...the previous post appeared just after i fired off my post; I've got an Axiom, too. But i still can't shut SonarDPR after turning off the midi controller. So evidently YMMV.

LOL, so I see you get that too.  I don't smoke but maybe I should (for Sonar Crashes) lol.

I will try the Midi keyboard thing.... will update next time it hangs ;)
