Very good stuff here John....mix was clear and clean (listening on H-Phones). That S-Gear tones sound really good and I'm looking into getting it as well as Positive Grid's BIAS....ugghh GAS...lol. This was a well done project and I enjoyed listening to it!!!

Thanks a lot for listening Mesh - and for your comments. I love S-Gear! ;-) I can't comment on BIAS - as I'm happy enough with S-Gear, and not looking around (except maybe the TH3 that might come as a goodie with SONAR...)

I like the blend of electronica with the guitars. Very nice, crunchy tones. Cool ear candy throughout. Mix-wise, I thought maybe you could take the bass back down a hair. The low end is sucking up a lot of oxygen in your room, and a slightly less prominent bass guitar might make the other elements shine even brighter. The kick drum isn't making it through very well, maybe try the notch trick with the kick and the bass? I'd notch an eq hole in the bass, maybe around 110 hz, and go to the kick and boost that same frequency on the kick. Dunno, you might have tried that one already. Cool jam, keep it up! cheers, -Tom

The rhythm guitar at about 2:20 put a huge smile on my face! You could have mailed it in with that powerful guitar solo, but you didn't. That means something in my book. The only critique I have to offer would be that I felt a little boxed in by the low to mid range frequencies. The harmonics are present so I wouldn't suggest an EQ boost, but maybe a more aggressive high pass filter on the guitars? Or some dips in the 200 hz range? I'm not a "professional" by any means, so take my advice with a grain of salt. With or without adjustments this song is top notch! Jake

Tom, Jake and String - thanks a lot for listening, and I do appreciate the comments. I think it's a real challenge to ge tthe bass to come through clearly, when you have all that guitar "crunch" going on ;-) It will always be a challenge for me - working in that area - with the kick, bass guitar and the bottom end of the guitars all fighting for space. Also - I'm not exactly in a professional studio - so sometimes I have to "guess" ;-) The rhythm guitar at about 2:20..... I wanted to be sure it didn't get too corny there - I'm glad you liked it Jake ;-)

John, the mix works for me here nice balance across the board and a nice tune to boot, good job.

Thanks a lot for listening Wookie. I guess everyone is listening on different setups (including me!) - but I understand that the area they're talking about is a "delicate" area ;-)

Oh yeah, tasty riffs John. I also like a blend of rock and electronica, works well. Lots of 'stuff' going on, essential in an instrumental I think.

I really like this one... could be one of my favorites from you. Just a great mix of straightforward crunchy rock and, well, "other" stuff. Overall I think the mix works. Maybe a bit more beater on the kick, but that would probably do it for me. I like the fat bass.

Hi Steve, Thanks a lot for listening and for your comments - I did try to keep this one "simpler" (less dense) ;-) I'm going to try to pay more attention to the kick drum. That's the hardest part for me - sometimes I have to "guess" a little with the kick and bass guitar as my listening environment is not exactly "perfect" ;-)
