SONG: Roundabout
Hi, I've got a new one here: http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=13389264This one is a ballad, and it contains some of the usual suspects: Made with SONAR Platinum - of course Trilian Acoustic Bass A little bit of Superior Drums Some real guitars and a few Omnisphere noises...

Hey John, I like this a lot, especially the floaty rhythm guitars and bass. Kind of in the John Martyn vein that I love. Nice work!

Thanks a lot for listening - and for the quick reply. I was a little worried - as I don't really do too many ballads ;-)

Very nice and pleasing tones/playing John. You did well on this ballad. That Trillian acoustic bass really drives the song well and is very realistic.......I like it a lot. (looks to be another piece of gear on my continuous list to get....lol)

I love it. Great guitar tone, makes me want to write instrumentals. Reminds me a lot of a couple of tunes by Greg Koch. Good job

Very nice John! Flows very well, and your guitar work is well done. Like the synth touches you have here and there as well. Trillian is on my wishlist as well...been there for quite some time, lol. Wish they'd have a big sale. Regards, Dan

Thanks for listening TheMaartian! Maybe I should rename it - put an "s" at the end or something ;-) I never heard of 85/- beer ;-) 70/- yes, 80/- yes, 90/- ages ago ;-) Actually, we don't really get much of any "shilling" beer nowadays - it's all "pale ale", "blonde", "red ale" etc. It still tastes as good though ;-)

I thought I remembered 65, 75 and 85 shilling ale. Of course, it could have been 70, 80 and 90. It was a night to remember. Or forget. Can't remember which. A Six Nations rugby match between Ireland and Scotland in Edinburgh. Ireland won 41-6. Much high shilling ale that night! I probably conflated the English 4.5, 5.5, and 6.5 ABV ratings with the Scottish shilling ratings. Specific gravity? Heck, just draw me a pint!

lovely song and as others have said the bass is a great sound to underpin the track. i think the only thing I might have done was added a little more air/verb to the guitars. the change-up at 2'20 ish is brill.

That be some really nice work... I thoroughly enjoyed it. The main melody sorta reminds me of something Satch might do. And the mix is very clean but still wide and punchy.
