Thanks for the reply I already tried compatibility mode Win 8 and Win 7 but it still won't work.
I am thinking of wiping my HDD and going back to Win 7 if I can't find a solution.

It should work in the newest versions of SONAR. At least the two Softube products I installed this month do. See http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3398711 for an explanation. It looks like the SONAR demos are current so they should have the workaround in them too.

Hi scook Thanks for the reply.Considering I am still using an old version of Sonar (X2) which demo should I try.I would like something close to the X2 but I don't need all the bells and whistles of a Professional Package.

You still may want to consider SONAR Platinum. Upgrading to Platinum through the end of August includes free upgrades for life. Otherwise SONAR Professional still includes the prochannel. SONAR Artist is the entry level. Compare them all here http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR/Versions  Only Platinum includes lifetime upgrades.

Thanks for that i only use Sonar at home so the Professional is not needed.Equally the Artist edition is too basic so Platinum looks to be the one.
I will try the demo and hope my Softube plugins work.

Platinum is the top of the line.
    Professional is the second tier.
    Artist is the entry product.

Softube are having a big problem with their plugins on 64-bit Win10. It's an admitted bug, and one that the support tech claimed was the biggest he's seen since working at Softube. All of their VST x64 plugs crash Studio One v3 when being scanned. SONAR Platinum seems to handle them OK, but that doesn't mean that the bug isn't affecting you in a less obvious way.

In any case, SPlat Lifetime is, IMO, the best audio software deal going today. I have no regrets for switching to SONAR from S1. The lifetime offer was a no-brainer for me (Which brain did you take? Um, Abby. Abby Normal!).

Yes I spoke to Softube tech support and they say they are working on it but it's not an easy problem to solve.Still my options are ditch Win 10 and go back to Win 7 or stick it out hope the fix is soon and more important hope S Plat runs them ok.

I wouldn't be surprised if installing the demo fixes the issue with X2 if the problem is in the VST scanner. The VST scanner is shared by all versions of SONAR. Installing the demo will update the scanner.

im not sure if this solve your issue but its worth noting.
also make sure your windows update is current. some use their DAW's off line so it needs to be said.
    update windows to newest possible.

There are lots of fixes and enhancements to the vstscanner since X2. As Scook said if you install the demo it will update the scanner as well so will get the scanner fixes.
Softube plugs work quite well in Platinum and we have Console 1 updates coming for them when their new release is ready.

So I downloaded the Sonar Platinum Demo today and ran it.
It scanned all my VST folders with no problems except for Softube.
I still get the error message that it wont run, this is what I get.

timed out waiting to connect to named pipe

They work for me. Maybe try a reset and rescan and if that doesn't work, put the VST2.4s into a bullpen folder and just scan the VST3 versions. I can imagine it is darn frustrating for you-- softube make GREAT plugins. I would like Tilt EQ as a prochannel module

edit: just a thought... I use iLok dongle, are the other people who use the dongle having problems?

Re: Running Softube Plugins in Sonar 2016/06/23 06:34:57 (permalink)
    OK Problem Solved
The clue is in the error message
    \\.\pipe\com_paceap_eden.licensed_authorisation

Pipe is a software protection programme designed to stop illegal copying of software.
In my case the software was not up to date so I simply ran the iLok  Licence Installer programme
and it updated the Pace software.

Now when I run Sonar Platinum my Softube plugins work.
However they still do not work in Sonar X2 Producer so I have deleted it.
The plugins still don't work in other DAW's I have on my system so I am not saying
the problem is fixed for anything other than Sonar Platinum.
