SOund card is not shown after crash

I'm using a edirol UA4fx and after Sonar crashes  the soundcard disappears from sight in Sonar. Even though the system is using it with no problem.
Only way to get it back is to restart the system...

Is there a better way?   this happens using Sonar Plat and earlier versions...

Power the Edirol off/on BEFORE starting Sonar.

If it is the Windows sound device, stopping and restarting Windows Audio in services.msc might get the device back.

You might also try unplugging the USB cable... then plugging it back in.

Ok... stop and then running audio in services doesn't help.

Also usb unplug the usb does

I've also checked that Sonar is not running in background...

but something is making the edirol unavailable in Sonar. but its still active for Windows....
    wierd!!

I do not believe Windows uses the same driver and if you change the driver mode in SONAR, it too would work just not as well as ASIO. Maybe disabling/enabling the device in Windows would refresh the driver in memory.
