SSD4 Mic Preset "Save" issue--look under the elephant (icon) in the room
I thought I would report a solution to my issue with SSD4 and its failure to save and to load mic presets in my Sonar X1. After months of getting absolutely no help whatsoever over at the SSD4 forum, and no real help from SSD4 support on this, I received an email from a SSD4 support member who was replying to an email I sent yesterday about this. He said "In Sonar, you need to click the Keyboard icon in the upper right corner of the plugin window in order to give the plugin focus. Have you tried this yet?"
Guess what? It works now, and maybe it worked before but I had not clicked the obvious. I can now change, and then save and then load, mic presets. Before the Sonar X1 keyboard shortcuts would take precedence and not allow me to type in the ssd4 "save" box. Now, by clicking on the little keyboard icon, I can now type in the ssd4's GUI and it works correctly. This is so obvious it is embarrassing but I am so elated that I am not embarrassed at all. It is still a little appalling that for a couple of months I have been asking for help with this over on the SSD4 forums and got now help. Today, I got the email which pointed out the elephant in the room (hiding behind the little keyboard icon).
Now that this works and now that they have IOMaps for several other drum maps, and now that the outputs can be changed and saved from session to session, SSD4 is finally (more) usable for me. Perhaps others might find this info helpful and even useful as well.
