It doesn't look too different from what I already have - don't think I can be bothered to upgrade at the moment, shall wait to hear what people think of this - I have SD3 and am VERY happy with that
Cheers

Looks like SSD5 does not include the expansion kits.  They have been updated for SSD5 but are not included -  no mention on web site about if an expansion upgrade price is available.
I don't have any so it's not a real concern of mine but if I had shelled out around $100/150 or so for an expansion kit and there was no discount on on getting an upgrade I'd be pissed.

I had the expansions and it looks like they get auto updated. I have new download links.

SSD 4 has only taken up drive space.  With AD and EZD it's a little late coming into the fold.

It's also pretty lack-luster.  It's "eh ok".
It will do the job.  It just seems like it
never quite got there to me...YMMV

Thanks for the heads up. When I first saw machine ID mentioned as an authorization method on the website I didn't realize it meant iLok.

Machine ID doesn't mean physical iLok.
The SSD doesn't require physical iLok.

Do the Slate VMR plug-ins still need physical iLok?

Thanks I understand I looked it up last night. It's a third party license management application I can and will do without.

I actually have a v.1 ilok dongle.  The soft ilok is, in my opinion, worse as I've read numerous people losing licenses after hardware failures. Slate probably requires a v2 or v3 ilok key so I'm out of luck unless I buy a new key.

At any rate, I've been trying to avoid adding more ilok software period due to the hassle.  I realize it's not a problem for many.
