SWA X2 Complete Tutorial

I downloaded a version (I think free) back in 10/2012.  1 large video file.  I see that there is one for sale in CW store.  Is the one in store a newer version?

Thanks scook.  Yeah probably have the first one, but didn't know if they update them.  But don't want to spend 39.95 if I already have it.  Follow up one I am happy to pay for.  thanks!

I do not believe it has been updated, the author, forum user FastBikerBoy might be on the forum in a few hours (still pretty early where he lives) to definitively answer your question.

Heads up, if you watch the video in something like Microsoft Media Player, you won't see that there are chapters you can directly navigate to.  You'll want to view it in something like iTunes... If you don't you'll have a hell of a time trying to find where you are and where things are at...

I use the VLC player to watch it. You can access the chapters from there. Shame that it's not shipped as separate videos really, would be more convenient.

The video has been updated. If you bought it, you should have a second link in your store account.

The new version is broken up into a bunch of separate chapters in HD mp4's.

On an iPad you can navigate through it by chapters. Same  with Karl's new X2 Effects tutorial.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Thanks everyone! I use iTunes to view it.  Or iPad.

If video had been updated, maybe I should buy it?  I seem to remember I got the first one free when I upgraded to X2 last year.  I wonder how much has changed.  Maybe there is enough improvements to warrant.

I am in a big time training mode right now and using SWA as well as Free Access Groove for 30 days.   I like videos and reading manuals.  Then trying out things.  And asking questions.  This forum is the best!

I believe it was a format change, not a content change. If you are looking for more video tutorials, Craig Anderton's X1 series http://www.store.cakewalk...ductid=10-X1AB1.00-20E are still relevant and provide quite a few interesting tricks.

You'll be a happy man, Dan. I've spent several hours a day doing just that since November
and I've only touched the tip of the iceberg.

I figure I'll get around to producing some real music sometime around retirement.

Paul,  if I spend any more time with recording stuff, I will be retired - hahahaha.  Dan

Hi there Dan. I can half answer your question.

The video content has definitely not changed - that much I know. I believe the format may have changed but I'm not sure exactly how. I think it was split into smaller files but I don't *know* that for fact. I'm the author but I  don't "own" the video so have very little to do with its distribution.

You shouldn't have to buy it again though. I thought that the updated format was available for anyone that already own it. I will ask those "in the know" and see if I can get a definitive answer for you.

Cool, I didn't even know they'd put an updated version in my store account. I just downloaded it and it is indeed split into separate files....joy! I was watching it in a completely random order anyway so this just makes my life a lot easier.
