I have always used ASIO drivers on my MOTU 24io and when I recently bought a Saffire 6 USB for my laptop I saw no reason to change. I couldn't resist trying it on my studio computer and it was very nice. Even being USB ver.1 didn't seem to slow it down one bit. I do wish they would have included an insert jack on the preamps. I do like to run a compressor on vocals just to catch peaks while tracking. I have never had really good results with WDM drivers. Ever! Even using the old multimedia drivers were better. I don't know why. ASIO has been very, very good. The Saffire is definitely a great buy.
