Sample rate issues

Hey, I'm the proud owner of Mackie 1620 with firewire. I'm using the 1.1.1 driver with sonar X1 and EZ drummer as a VST plugin. The other day I was recording a rehearsal of my band when something strange occured. All the normal audio tracks would play back normal (normal speed) while the EZ drummer seemed pitched up (or playing at a different sample rate). And sometimes it's the other way round. I can't seem to find any logic in this. In between songs we sometimes look at youtube movies, thus maybe changing the sample rate??? Anyway, I have looked everywhere but couldn't find a solution for this problem. Has this got something to do with the fact that the onyx changes samplerate automatically ?Or is sonar somehow involved here?

It's pretty frustrating not knowing what the problem is, especially since I'm planning some recordings in the near future. HELP!

to me it sounds more like you have changed the tempo of the project.  if you change the tempo after you've recorded audio, the audio will not change tempo, it will only stretch out or stretch in the waveforms to make them fit the new tempo setting, but MIDI will change tempo.

also, there's a 2X and a 1/2X tempo setting on the GUI of the EZD.  it's possible you clicked on one of those buttons as well.
