SampleTekk Blue Grand - The Character Grand Piano

The Blue Grand is the perfect piano when you want something that’s a bit more mellow, old school and ambient sound.
The great instrument used for the White Grand and White Sister, a large Malmsjo Grand, a 100 year old beauty, was here used to create their more soft spoken sister.

The instrument was miked up pretty closed, to remain contact with the instrument, but room mikes was used to give it a more ambient character.
It was also tuned to give a bit more movement in the tone, giving it an even more old school sound.
No bells and whistles on this one.
Hammerback and pedal noise samples that gives it intimisy and presence, (no pedal noise on the HALion 3 version).

The Blue Grand is not the ultimate Grand Piano that will cover all bases, but if you need a ambient, old school instrument that still has precense, look no further!

If you like the piano the price isn't too shabby. I had my sights on a near future purchase of Ivory. I have several of these pianos and they all are good for different things.

They regularly have their 50% off sales and grabbing a few is the way to go. IMO, the demo's on this Blue Grand was a bit too mellow for my liking. I prefer a little more brighter sound than this, but it certainly has some character to it.

They do have some excellent piano's and their (Pers?) support is excellent.

Someone (just recently) bought Kontakt on this thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2810599.

Also check on the KVR website in the market place.....I've gotten some really good deals (Alchemy, Battery 3, etc....) over there......just verify the seller's info.

    Good luck!

I picked up an earlier version of Kontakt from ebay and then ""patiently" waited for their annual half of sale.

this allowed me to get to Komplete for half price.

Sampltekk have some great pianos, Really like Old Lady and White Grand.

This Blue Grand looks like a nice twist on the White Grand.
