Samplitube MIDI Control - Contour Wah

So, I buy Samplitube 4. Nice! But, how do I use my old POD XT Live's Wah/Vol pedal to control the Samplitube Contour Wah? I'll tell ya, it was not an easy setup. Neither the Samplitube 4 manual or the Sonar (X3) online help were any tooooo helpful. Samplitube was not toooo bad, but Sonar "help" was just plain wrong and loathe to comply with my effort.

Safe to say, ... now, I won the battle. So I'll drop my own instructions on y'all should you have a need to know clearance from Cakewalk :)

Now, be advised: This was a confusing learning experience and my re-creation of the experience as instructions for you may not be perfect, but it should get you pointed in the right direction.

--------------------------------------------

Verify NRPN data from POD XT Live wah pedal 1st!

AMPLITUBE PRE-SETUP

From inside a new default Sonar project. Delete all tracks for simplicity.

IMPORTANT! Refer to Samplitube documentation for detailed instructions.

Samplitube is an effect (for now). Drag from Sonar effect bin to new audio track FX bin.

Use a simple (default) Samplitube preset for trial run/setup.
This is tricky enough as it is. Better not to push the envelope first time around.

Assign Samplitube (Contour - my choice) Wah to Stomp A.

Set up an unused parameter via the button - lower RH corner.
Save the setup.

Save preset so it will always be available.

Close Sonar and start over. Load default SIMPLE template. Delete any tracks, for sake of simplicity.

SONAR SETUP

Refer to Sonar documentation.
Amplitube effect MUST be setup as instrument via plugin manager 1st!

Important step!
Create new MIDI track: Edit filter set to NRPN, value 4, channel 1.
IN: Your MIDI interface channel 1. OUT: Not yet!
IMPORTANT! - VERIFY MIDI data from POD XT Live by recording as you move wah/volume pedal.
(your POD is set up for wah, right?)

Do NOT load Amplitube as instrument! Create a new audio track.
Drag Amplitube from VSTi instrument bin to the new audio track's FX bin.
Sonar automagically assigns audio IN to Amplitube. Reassign to an audio interface input (for your guitar).

NOW set MIDI track OUT to Amplitube.
Arm the MIDI track (turn it on) by clicking on the icon. It lights up blue.

The Amplitube wah has to learn the MIDI source. Right-click the Amplitube wah pedal. Assign the parameter you previously set up. Now, right-click and "learn" the MIDI source from your POD by moving the POD pedal. If all goes well and neither you or I have screwed this up, the Amplitube wah will "move" with the POD pedal position.

Save the Amplitube preset. Save the Sonar project for later use as a template.

NOW, please! Write and record a tune to support American FREEDOM!!! It is sorely lacking these days.

What are you asking about Magix Samplitude or IK Multimedia Amplitude?

My guess it is about Amplitube, influenced by his nick (SubCommander, not AmpCommander). My second guess he is not asking but explaining
