Samson Resolv 80A Active Reference Monitors ?

Anyone using Samson Resolv 80A Active Reference Monitors in their studio ? Any comments on them ? They seem to be going cheap over here in the UK (£249.99) so I was thinking of picking up a pair .

This may help you with your decision:
I had a pair of Resolv 65a's. They sounded bright but useful. Nevertheless, I sent them back because of a couple of operational issues:
    - The auto-mute threshold inside of them was set too high. This meant that when listening to must at low levels (background music) the speakers would go into stand-by mode.
    - The second issue was that apparently the tweeter that they chose for this speaker is so sensitive, that the internal amplifier hiss was readily (and annoyingly) present when no music was playing and auto-mute had not yet engaged.

According to my e-mail from Samson tech support, the 80a and 65a use the same tweeter...just different decorative plastic.

    There's a reason they're cheap.............they suck.

If you want cheap, decent-looking speakers that aren't accurate and give you mixes that'll leave you wondering why they don't sound right on everybody else's systems, then you whip out the plastic and buy'em.
