"Saturday Rain" - New toys and too much time on my hands...

I got Komplete 8 a little while back and I sat down this past Saturday while it was raining and thought I'd give my new toys a spin...
This needs some fine tuning on the mix I think, and really needs something going on to hold your attention, but if you've got a few minutes to kill give 'er a listen and let me know what you think.
As always, thanks so much!

To tell you the truth, it sounds alot the same all the way through. There are a lot of great samples in there but for such a long piece, you should have some different change ups going on in this, especially with the major over all beat and the drums. It just seem very repotious to me, but this is just my opinion. Maybe some stops and a few dynamic riffs thrown in here and there. Great start for something bigger. Peace be with you. Blessings, John

This sounds cool and would make good background music for a film.  Plenty of texture in this to show off your new toy.  With careful rearranging, this could go in any number of directions.  Don't hesitate to show us what else Komplete 8 can do.

    All the best,

Sounds like you are enjoying the new toy.  Perhaps some level shifts of the back-beat when the stabs and other ear candy appear just to help them stand out more.  The other suggestions noted by John and Lynn are also very worthy of your attention.

Thanks for sharing there is something in there just waiting to be released.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the feedback.
Yeah, it needs some work on the mix, and I'm thinking some sort of bridge or break....
I could put some guitar on there but my playing style (blues/rock kinda) wouldn't be the best fit for it.
But then, that's how we grow, innit?

On the other hand, maybe Danny Danzi will volunteer to help me out......

    Thanks again, fellas!

    Good mix, cool sounds.

But I would be honest in saying that is IS repetitive and montonous. 5:43 is to much of that with just a looped beat.

Cut it to 3 minutes, midway through break to a more stripped down beat with more hats and cowbell, and maybe a high end synth playing an offbeat chord.

You have some great riffs in there from all instruments.

Nice crisp sounding track. I'd give the bluesy rock guitar a try, it is a barely concealed 12-bar, after all!

Looks like your enjoying making Komplete mixes. This is a cool beginning. It seems boring as it is. It sounds great though.

I keep seeing "The Mod Squad" running through the theme intro.

    Well done!

Sounds like the basis of something. Hope you get it sorted out.
