Saving a folder as a template?

I'm new to Sonar X1 so I was wondering if there's a way to save a folder as a template so that when loading it, it loads the synth, MIDI and  audio track(s)?

Reason I want to do this is I always use 2 tracks or more for a synth setup, one audio and one MIDI, some like Omnisphere have 8 multis so that's 16 tracks in all, so saving a single track as a template is no good.

I could use a normal song template but I use a lot of large sample libraries like EWQLSO and there's no way I could have everything loaded.

I wanted to create track templates for the patches I use most so I can just drag them in when I need them, without spending time setting up tracks and routings but it looks like track templates can't do this.

Any ideas?

Pretty sure you're going to need a project template for this, a track template won't work.

Just set it up a blank project the way you want and save as a project template - overwrite the normal template if you think this is appropriate

Regarding EWQLSO - if you're using the Play engine, just load it up in your template and unload the articulations before saving as a template. Switch on the ones you need when you need them.

Ah yeah, I could just load as many instances of play as I need, route them to tracks in folders and just not load anything into them until needed.

    Great idea thanks!

You can save them as track templates. Set all the tracks up routed to synths how you want them, in folders etc.

Then select all the tracks and folders you want to use as part of the track template, right click over one of the tracks (doesn't matter which one) and select "save as track template". That's it.

Track templates are very powerful remembering all synths, FX, buss routings, folder set up etc. etc.
