Saving presets using VST bitbridge in Sonar X64

Saving presets for VST instruments must be done by saving individual "instrument" .fxp or .fxb files on your hard drive in Sonar. This is laborious, hard to organize and stifles my creativity when I'm trying to generate a lot of presets to experiment with, or fork a preset and save incremental changes.

Does anyone know of a better way to do this, or have any suggestions on how I can better organize and create presets for VSTi's in Sonar?

Older versions of cakewalk (32 bit) with native VST support had this feature, you could just type a preset name in the box and click "save" and then you had that preset automatically saved forever. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I agree Alex. I've always hated that. It only seems to be with 3rd party stuff on my end though. That said, when I made the switch over to J-Bridge, that "old way" we're used to comes back on everything. For some users, J-Bridge has been a better solution anyway....but it's a catch 22. It's been better for me on some things and no difference on others other than I get my "normal" vst plug save window back.

hold down shift when double clicking to open the vst plugin ui. you will then get the window that has the cakewalk preset controls toolbar.

+101 on this.  I just missed that little gem when reading the reference guide.  This will help so much with some older vst synths and navigating the presets.  Thank Noel!

    Thanks Noel,

I can't wait to try this today.  I hate saving presets the other way.
