Vechung,

Thanks for goiong the extra mile sharing your guitar art and techniques.  That's the 1st time I've seen Castrol, GT-10 processor, and this style.

I like it.

It sounds like the music they play on step dance night at the local country club... and that is a popular night.

I think at 1:40 the melody switches over to cool jazz and takes away from the swing hall feel. The motifs earlier on convey a country conviction... by 1:50 the jazz flag is flying.

I like the pumping drums... lots of country music uses the latest sounds... and this is a good example.
.
The synth filler seems totally unnecessary... and just detracts from the dynamics that I think are still retained in most country mixes. I'd make it go away and enjoy the guitar playing.

The picking sounds hot... good stuff.

Where is that photo from? It reminds me of an old friends sculpture work.

best regards,
mike

Hi All

Thanks for the kind comments.  As for the Castrol guitar, I went to Phoenix, AZ and visited their "Musical Instrument Museum" (all of you must checkout this place if you are in the area) and took this picture on their Haiti exhibit (or was it Jamaica?).  How I wish I can land my hands on one of them and twang it.

Cheers

Sounds like the stuff Shania Twain used to put out back when she was popular, where the song was all pop, but the dressing was country.

Loved it.
