Ha! Well the over all "vibe" I don't really consider country? It's kinda like country meets pop, meets trance? It's difficult to describe, but I can hear some country influences in there somewhere :-) Sounds like it was fun to record. Good job on the mix.

The ending felt a little abrupt. And don't fear the Country genere? :-) Country music is typically "3 chords and the truth..."

Yeah,,,,, This isn't Country or Western.... And that ain't no Hank Williams Tune!! ..... But it is really imaginative.  Loved that sloppy clean guitar picking and playing (Nice chops)...You are all over that neck! Such a talent and style that works really well in this tune. All I can say is YEEE HAAAW!

Something went kablooey when the song first started. There was a megaton of low end when the bass kicked in for 2 ~ 3 seconds. My whole desk shook, and I don't have a subwoofer hooked up! :) I've never felt bass like that come out of my HS-80m's before, it was cool! Might wanna check in to that though. :)

That was very interesting. I could hear where you could classify that as country a little in the beginning. Especially country from back in the mid 80's when Nashville drove the last nail in to country's coffin. :) Great guitar playing, I like it whatever the genre is. :)

    Thanks Ya'll for listening

rockingrobby: Dang it!  I used four chords.  Was there a limit on the number of notes too?
    tap: Ok more Hank Williams.
Bub: Funny, I listened with my home speaker, headphones and my computer speaker and I dont' hear that.  However, looking at bass sound meter, I do see a spike.  Anyways, I put a compressor on the bass and hopefully that fixed the problem.  I uploaded a new version.

    Hi Vicente,

Cool tune and playing.  Nice guitar tone and mix, too.

It might not sound "Country" compared to Hank Williams but it's
at least as "Country" as 90% of what comes out of Nashville these days

Well obviously you are a country fan.  Or probably more accurately a music fan, which includes everything.

Oh yea, this would be a fun number.  You got some nice licks in there, and I just heard a really cool passage in there.

Maybe really you are a latent Johnny Hiland or Albert Lee!

A litte more dynamics in the backing track would really set this up nice.

    Very cool.

Not my favourite genre either to be honest, but you certainly played that very well and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The drums sound kind of like a generic backing track that you played along to rather than something written to compliment the music if that makes snese. Maybe that's just me - no offence intended.  Anyway your guitar playing ability is in no doubt so congrats on that.

you play across as many genres as i do! i enjoyed this, a bizarre backing track, but allowed you to experiment well. you picking is always lovely and clean. some nice hooks in this too. a bit odd, but ain't we all?!

Hi Vincente. That was really wierd for me in a good way. Somehow that generic backing track added to the strange vibe this song puts out. That note bouncing hop skip and jump lick is really cool. I know you did this for kicks but you got some real nice skills and you can tell you had fun playing over that chord change.

I love country music and this is a sweet little tune and excellently played.  I'd love to dance to this.  But I'd probably hurt something.    Anyway, I love it!!

geeare1: Glad to know that I am not that far off
daryl: You are right about that.  I love all kinds of music: pop, classical, jazz, rock, electronica, country, dead metal, but .... no latin salsa.
paulo: Yeah about the drums again.  I seem to put so much energy on the guitars that the drums, a lot of times, are an after thought.
rhynosynth and mgh: Bizzare, yes.  I was thinking of combining dance trance electronica and country.  All for the fun of experimenting
janet: It was meant for dancing, but be careful!

    Thank you all for listening!

Well, I'm a latecomer here, and most of what I'd have said already got said, and probably better than I can say it.  BUT- I will add that I really enjoyed listening to this.  Your tone and style are refreshingly different, and some of the melody lines hinted at Billy Gibbons (sans the distortion).  As for the mix (caveat- listened on pc speakers) I think I'd have liked to have heard a bit more bass and rhythm guitar presence, and the shakers seemed to get a little too far out front at points.  Overall- REALLY liked it.

Got  a revised version up.  Reduced the shakers and added BBE Sonic Maximer.  BBE really does something that is hard to describe.

I'm like you ... not a country music fan (too frolicky for my ears)

This of course is extremely wll performed ... while lacking fiddle and pedal steel ... this approximates country rock in a perfected BiaB sort of way.

Do you mind sharing your guitar art?

IOWs, this clearly begs vocals (and a good message) to win my heart and soul.

But, the 2nd half of this 3.00 minute tune has (somehow) won a good bit of my heart and soul.

Philip: "My guitar art"  The key is the melody.  I repeat key melody themes several times to re-inforce the message.  Of course the key melodic themes need to be something hooky.  Most of my solos are question/answer type.  My song structures are usually ABABCBB.  This one is ABABCBBC.  Songs needs to be long enough to digest the meat and some dessert afterwards.  Too long, it gets boring, too short, it leaves you unsatisfied.

The guitar I used was a Strat that I borrowed from a friend, hooked to a GT10 using their generic "NewYork Clean" patch.  My sound card is an EMU-1616M.  Sonar 8.5 with very few effects/none on the main guitar track.  I get most of my tone from the GT10.

I mix using a Sony MDR-V6, and especially the stock speakers of my Honda Accord.  Why use those loosy speakers?  Few people have very fine speakers and they listen a lot in their cars, so why not tune it so that it sound the best from them?
