Scissor Image While Muting Notes In PRV

This scared me off originally... and still does tho I'm managing to ignore it and click anyway....

When I use alt-rt-click to mute the notes, my cursor changes to the SPLIT tool... I know that if I make sure my mouse and left-hand/rt-hand sequence is exact, I can see a mute tool...

This is most uncomfortable behavior and I understand that it's due to the fact that the split is the alt-left-click... but maybe it would be better some other way? I'm not sure what, but this is not good the way it is...

    Hi Keni...

....sure... the "old way" is the answer....... no stupid/smart tools or annoying typings... but specific, clear tools for ANY common task...

I agree. I find it distracting to get the split tool when using Alt or Crtl-Alt with the scroll wheel to zoom a track. Makes me think I've hit the wrong key, and bad things are about to happen.

Yes... uncomfortable for me as well tho I can see how it could be faster if you can wrap your head around it and stay oblivious to the visuals...

the number of errors I create due to this kind of issue make me seriously question this release... they slowed down things because they were too "cluttered", then sped things up with visuals that take so much work to use that they slow me down...

I was much happier before and I'm sad to say but I don't think this software's gonna get "better"... or at least, not for a long while. They now have too much investment in making this new dog fly....

While I agree it's off putting I don't see how it could be much different given the dual use. It does change to the mute symbol when you press the right mouse button but wouldn't it be just as confusing if it changed to the mute tool before pressing the right mouse button?

Maybe if it didn't do anything until actually pressing a mouse button would be better and then change to the relative icon when pressing the respective mouse buttons.

It's a very difficult situation with this new implementation... If it only changes with the click, you actually never see it because the click is so short... This is why having dedicated buttons make this job easier as they give certainty to the tool choice...

That's one of the arguements I've received regarding the issue I have with smart tool's split clip situation (related to single click both setting now time and selecting clip)... there they were willing to have it slower to make it easier yet here they made it harder trying to make it faster (access)... <sigh>... there is no happiness! ;-)

Amen to that. If I wanted to use a HUD (heads up display), I would have tried to necome a military pilot.
