Scratching My Head On This One...

So, I'm having an issue after freezing and/or bouncing two tracks (two NI Massive instances).

After I froze them, the sound of the tracks coming from a multi out Kontakt instance started spazzin out on me. By that I mean, sound from those four tracks of that one Kontakt multi would "glitch out", strange noises and loud pops from only those four tracks. Everything else, including the frozen Massive tracks, played just fine. The Kontakt synth isn't frozen, BTW.

The same happened after bouncing the Massive tracks to audio and deleting the two instances.
My CPU was at a low level before freezing, and there were no spikes in the CPU meter, or the ram and HDD meters after. Once I unfroze the tracks(and hit undo when bounced), they started playing fine again. I repeated the same steps after restarting Sonar, but got the same results.

The Kontakt and two Massive instances aren't connected by routing in any way, if it makes a difference.

Any experiences with this, or ideas on how to remedy it?

Ok. So, I got it to work. Not exactly sure if I figured what the issue was, though.

Not mentioned in the OP but, I also had a multi out instance of Trilian frozen before freezing the two Massive ones. So I attempted a "bounce to tracks" for the Trilian synth, and had the same problem as above.

Unlike yesterday, when I hit undo or unfroze the synth everything would play normal without "glitches", this time those Kontakt tracks would continue to glitch out. Also, after stopping transport the strange "effects" would continue, intermittently.

What I ended up doing that worked for was, after each performed "freeze" and/or "bounce to tracks" of the two synths (followed  by their deletion); I would save a new version of the project, without pressing play on the transport to hear the result. At the end, I had the bounced audio on new tracks and presto! Everything played without a hitch!

The problem is... Is that I don't know what the problem is that caused the issue.

Could it be an issue with my system, soundcard (M-audio fw 410) and it's driver, or Sonar itself?

It may be something I'm overlooking since I compose only as a hobby, am new to Sonar and relatively new to computer music. However, the only problems I had with using the freeze and functions before, was when I didn't know how to do it correctly (and maybe that's still the case ).

Anyway, just thought I'd pick your brains for some insight while sharing my workaround.

    Peace
