Screensets are great, but...

Screensets are a boon.  Unfortunately they don't quite work the way I had hoped.

After configuring a set of 10 screensets, I wanted to be able to "Save Screensets" so that I can later import them into other projects.  But no, it's not that easy.  Instead you have to open 2 projects to copy them over.  I'm finding this annoying.

Also when you rename a screenset, the new name is not displayed in the tooltip when you hover over the button (i.e. it still shows "Screenset 06" or whatever rather than the name you have assigned to it).  Worse still, these new names are not carried over when you copy the screensets into another project, i.e. it reverts back to numbers.  Disappointing.

Hmm they actually work well for me Kev and exactly the way you wish them to work, yet you're not seeing it on your end. Not sure why.

Yeah, the two projects thing sucks, but it takes a second. Once I copy everything to the project I'm working on (which at this point has no audio and is a template) I save it as a project template so I NEVER have to copy over that set of screen sets again. I even see my name when I mouse over. Honest man, see for yourself. My mouse isn't present in this because of the screen capture...but it's right on top of the screen set menu and you can see it mouse over-labeling.

The names I give them come up and are preserved. Not sure why it's not working for you or what you could be doing wrong, but it's working fine here. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you?

I have tried again and discovered that the problem of names not being copied across seems to be confined to one particular project only.  Must be a glitch.  It seems to work ok now with other projects.

The name of the current screenset is displayed correctly on the dropdown menu button's tooltip, but not on the number buttons.  I would like to see the correct name when I hover over a number button before I click on it.

I intend to save the screensets in the Normal template after I have finished tweaking them, so this won't be a problem for new projects.  But meanwhile I have dozens of old projects that I will be revisiting soon (but that's another story).

I might have a suggestion the will work for your old projects. With your new Normal template open, merge your old project into it (via drag and drop from the Browser). You will have to resave it, but at least it's painless.

Thanks, I'll look into that.  I have not checked out the Browser yet (except to notice that the Synth Rack lives there).
