That's not how they should behave as you apparently know Jan. Here's something to try. In Screen Set 1 click the 'H' key which is the 'track manager' and choose what tracks and folders you want to show in your track view. Make sure your Screen Set is not locked. Press the number 1 Screen Set. (You shouldn't have to press the number one key but I like to as it shows whether or not your SS is behaving properly.) Now go to Screen Set 2 and do the same thing. Click 'H' and choose what tracks you want to be visible. Works great on my system.

Jan, Correction I'm having a problem too with FOLDERS. It seems to work OK with tracks but NOT with folders. EDIT: Nah it's messed up. Mine don't work either. I'm surprised I didn't see this earlier but I can't get them to behave.

I'm finding it hard to follow what is happening there. Is the screenset changing very slowly or are you hiding/showing tracks after it's changed? As Larry has said, the screenset should remember which tracks are visible and hidden on a per screenset basis. Check the lock state but I can't see ahy that would make a difference to what I think I'm seeing there. If the change is very slow, disable the floppy disk controller in your BIOS, regardless of whether you have a floppy or not.

Ah, I knew the Screen Set bait would bring the SS master in to the thread. Hey FBB I just made a video showing some BAD behavior. What are you seeing? VIDEO HERE http://www.screencast.com...4f73-854a-6e8409c9b439 Doesn't matter if Track and Console views are synched.

Sure, but two reports are better than one. Link your report to this thread. http://www.cakewalk.com/s...act/problemreport.aspx And I want to see if FBB or others see the same behavior before I report it.

Not at my DAW at the moment. I'll try when I get there but that may not be till tomorrow evening. I can't say I've noticed any strange behaviour but I will double check.

Humble: Since FBB might not be able to check this out for a day or two - I watched your vid and tried something similar. I'm getting the same results with Track Folders. I haven't tested extensively, but I'm certainly seeing the same results as you are showing in your video.

Thanks Coda, I reported it to Cakewalk just in case it's been missed. It would suck for X1b to not be included a fix for this behavior.

I've just looked at your video Larry and that's very strange. I'm sure that I don't see that 'cos I use a MIDI view and Audio view that only have the relative tracks visible and I jump backwards and forwards all the time. I will of course check but I'm sure I'd have noticed, but who knows. I can be dense at times. However.... I don't use track folders much. Is it just an issue where they are present? That may explain why I don't see it. I'm itching to get back and find out now. Is that a sign of insanity? Wanting to find bugs?

I tried it with folders and tracks as I suspected the same thing and neither work. I'm feeling like you a little like I should have seen this but I guess I don't use X1 with those types of Screen Sets. I usually don't have certain track visible on a specific a SS. Seems like a great work flow idea, only MIDI tracks visible on your MIDI editing SS's. Only audio when editing Audio. Cool. Would be nice to have a custom default set up - "Show Only MIDI tracks" "Show Only Audio Tracks" I know track manager will get you there but a default might be cool.

Ok. I'm not back to my DAW yet but I have got to my laptop which has X1 on it though I don't use it much. Are there steps to re-create? I'm not seeing the sort of problems that you are. I've tried hiding/unhiding with track folders & tracks in different screensets and I'm not seeing anything like your video. It's working as expected. The only thing that may be different to your vid Larry is I'm not using softsynths. Is that relative? My laptop is x32 all round whereas my DAW is x64, if that matters. I will check when I eventually get back to my DAW but as I said I'm sure I would have noticed because of the way my SS are set up.

I just inserted 4 random Audio tracks, no data, no synths. 'H' track manager to show all 4 tracks in SS1. Switch to SS2, hide all tracks but track 1. Switch to SS1 and ONLY track 1 is showing. Hit 'F' 'fit tracks to window' and the other tracks appear. (OR) Click 'H' in SS1 which shows all the proper tracks, click OK and all the tracks show up. that's all I got other than the vid that shows the behavior.

It's getting weirder. I create 4 tracks in SS1 copy to SS2 then hide all but one of them. Switch back to SS1 and all but one of the tracks is visible as per the 'bug'. Switch back to SS2 and all tracks are now visible!! A bug within a bug? I wonder why this is only happening with what I've just created? It definitely isn't doing it in older projects or any other projects that I've created. very bizarre.

Hi guys , I`ve done some further testing . As I said I made a template containing 3 screensets 1 SS . Superior Drummer folder with midi track visuable in TV audio tracks hidden. All SD audio tracks visuable in CV on second monitor. 2 SS. Omnisphere folder with midi tracks visuable in TV audio tracks hidden . All Omnisphere audio tracks visuable in CV on second monitor . 3 SS. Bus view only in TV . I found that if I toggled between SS 3 and SS 1 it worked as expected . The same for toggeling SS 3 and SS 2 . But toggeling between SS 1 and SS 2 the problem persisted . Now in SS 1 I draged down the video view window just a notch and the problem where gone . I could now toggle between SS 1 and SS 2 and it displayed correct . It is hard to explain this with words : - ) I`ll try to make a video . All the best Jan

Now I'm more confused than normal. It only shows itself if you copy the screenset, or that's what I'm seeing at least. If you create a screenset from scratch or use the existing one it doesn't happen. The strange thing is that I'm sure in the videos I did demoing some uses for screensets I was copying them, and hiding tracks but can't recall seeing this issue. Very strange.

I'm even more confused now. I've got back to my DAW and I cannot reproduce this bug at all. I've tried everything, copying screensets, adding multiple tracks, tracks in folders, out of folders. As I reported earlier I can reproduce this on my laptop at will as long as the screenset is a copied version. The exact same actions on my DAW though and everything behaves as it should. The only difference between my laptop and DAW is laptop is x32 all round, DAW is x64 all round. I see your set up is x64 though Larry so I just can't work out what the difference between my laptop and DAW is. The only thing that springs to mind is my DAW will not have installed any Windows updates for a while as I manually connect it to update. My laptop auto updates via the regular windows scheduling. Do you think that might be relevant? It may explain why I haven't noticed it before. Very confusing.

My system is full 32 bit, and I do keep my machine up to date with patches like your laptop (not automatic, but most get applied). Since Larry is 64 bit, I doubt 32 vs 64 makes a difference, but maybe the patching does. Say FBB - you don't want to install all the MS patches to see if it screws up your machine do you - LOL

I've just checked on my updates. There has been around 55 updates to my laptop since my DAW was last updated. Has anyone else not updated since 6th Feb? Maybe you could try and replicate this bug and confirm whether you see it or not. I'm almost positive my laptop wasn't doing this before. I use a couple of screensets set up with different visible tracks. I'm sure I'd have noticed it before so I'm going with the Windows update theory for now. I'd rather not mess around with my DAW given that many are having trouble. I'll just be tempting fate.

Thought I'd check again and I still get the bad behavior. On my Screen Set 1 you can see a darker line in the track header area where the tracks should fill to, they just don't. 3 ways to get them back. Hit 'F' 'fit tracks to project'. Hit 'H' track manager and simply OK that DBX. Or have the video window pulled down one notch and SS1 works fine. And FFB I wouldn't even THINK about screwing with a machine that works to test this. Oops already too late, you've already thought of it - I wouldn't do it.
