Scurvay: Who does backups and how often?

As I get larger I have to backup more. It's getting more difficult to turn around, ya?

I do. Only when there is a change made so it's not often. Unless there is something special in whatever Cake may be offering soon I don't expect I'll need to backup for a long time. That is with my DAW PC...the one for internet I don't really care about...I can back it up in the trash can and probably be better off for it.

Data about once a month, System same or with major software upgrades.

TimeMachine backs up my computers every hour or so. Saved my butt at least once or twice in the last 8 months.

I back up both my DAW and my general purpose computer once a month on or shortly after the 1st (makes it easier to remember to actually do it by establishing such an obvious date). I use Acronis and make image copies written to external drives via USB 3. If it was USB 2, I doubt I'd be so regular - with USB 2, the backups would take all night to run. With USB 3, even my DAW which has tons of data, with massive amounts of Kontakt (and other) sample content, still only takes a little over an hour. I keep the external drives in a fire-proof filing cabinet. Probably would be more risk adverse to store these somewhere else than my house, but ... well, I can't be bothered.

I presently have 3 external 4TB hard drives. I back up to each of them on a rotation once a week. So one has the back up from 3 weeks ago etc.
I use Acronis. It takes about three clicks and the back up starts and shuts down the machine after it's done.
I back up everything. The system, all the internal drives in entirety (that means two). It's 3 clicks so no extra effort to do the whole thing.
I've recovered my environment from these backups about a dozen times over the years. It take a couple clicks to kick off a restore.
Ever had a situation where some pop up window inexplicably starts popping up? And you can't find where it's coming from? You can spend weeks or hours trying to find it or squash it. Or maybe something else has gone bad, or you've lost a good version of a song you're working on. About a dozen times I've restored using Acronis (a couple clicks to kick it off) and each time it's been such a relief.
P.S. I keep one back up hard drive off premise in case of the unexpected....
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I use a device I purchased from Costco called: Clickfree It's a USB attached hard drive with automation software. I've never had to use it to recover from a crash, but it really was useful when I migrated all my data to my new desktop.
