Music is not about notes and chords! My poem is not about the computer or monitor or letters! It's about how I was able to translate it from my insides!

The Donovan version is one of my fave tunes. Especially the early guitar work.

I don't know (right now), if my favorite one is Vanilla Fudge's or the Mike Bloomfield's version ... I think VF's is more interesting and theatrical if I remember correctly, and the Masked Marauders version is hilarious ... as it is a sendup to Bob Dylan, if I remember correctly. Haven't played that in ages and CD is not available, that I am aware of.

I saw Richard Thompson perform Season of the Witch in the early 80's. He is soooo good, at the time he was the opening act for Aussie band Crowded House. Great show, 20 feet from the stage in a nice venue.

Thanks for that link, James. I'd not heard that before, very nice. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but the Vanilla Fudge version remains my favorite.

This one's decent, but it would have been better if they'd had more guitars.

I had no idea that Vanilla Fudge still exists, and are still out there doin' it. Senior citizens now, but they still sound pretty darn good. No-frills straight-up rock 'n roll. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9DLtoBXMRw

Hi, My ol'e roommate used to do special shows during Halloween, and for 2 years straight he played stuff that was related, and of course, this song was one of them, and hearing 5 of these in a row, pretty much filled out an hour, but it was fun, but best of all? The sound effects at different speeds and backwards ... that was awesome! Made things totally weird and far out at the same time! I still have 3 of those shows from different years, and they are excellent ... and we're talking 40 years later!

I've been to Oingo Boingo's Halloween show a few times. Once I got tickets from Danny Elfman's friend (who I worked with and who actually doesn't like their music - lol!), so I got to take the hot blond from the office that we all called Goldilocks to the show and we sat right down in front next to Danny's wife and blue-haired kid. Post-note 1: Danny's friend Jorge lived in Malibu near Danny and they both loved B-movies which, of course, is what Danny got into scoring big time after Oingo Boingo. Post-note 2: Terri, A.K.A. Goldilocks, cut her hair short the day before the show, I never forgave her. Hehe...
