Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 won't install but stays in log

I have the following update in line for installing at every shutdown, but it always fail to install : Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB973923)
The original was installed a few days ago by Cakewalk SONAR X1.  Must also say that my PC is brand new, Win 7 Professional was installed just about a week ago (clean) and many updates were carried without any glitch.

Although I have tried for this one to do it before the shutdown process, the process always fail.
So: is there a way (should I try) to get rid of it (do i *need* it?) or getting it installed so it stops redownloading and getting in line for install at every shutdown ? (This is very, very annoying).
Thanks,
Rob

If I were you I would look up the proper vcredist that is dated sometime 2010 and install that properly first. They distributed a faulty one by Microsoft where some stuff did not install properly but ended up in root on systemdrive.

    This if x64 W7.

Then see if security update works better.
