Selecting Notes in Piano Roll

Hi, I'm a new user who is very experienced with Cubase and Logic and enjoying the trial demo. Can anyone give me a hand with selecting notes in the Piano Roll? So far the only way I can select notes is with a tool/mouse. I have the next/previous transient select thing going but can only get the now time to go to the notes I want to edit, not select them. Anybody as focused on key commands as I am would be appreciated chiming in. Thanks, Bobby

You need to use the mouse to select notes in the Piano Roll. There are no keyboard shortcuts for selecting notes. Well, unless you want to select them all Ctrl+A or deselect them all Ctrl+Shift+A.

SONAR's workflow is focused on using the mouse together with keyboard shortcuts, rather than using them independently.

Thanks guys. I found a great way to select with key commands. By moving next/previous by transients (which a MIDI note is considered, sensibly) you can use the "Select From to Now" and "Select Thru to Now". This is actually very cool. A kind of "range editing". It's a different than "shift+arrows" in other apps to add notes to a selection. However, if you consider the extra press of the shift key, it's the same number of steps. You hit the "From To Now" key, Then go "Next Transient" once or more, Then when are where you want to select to, Hit the "From to Now" key again. Bobby

Ah ha, okay. I see what you mean now. Yep, that works. Although, it would be nice if there was an easier way to do it with the arrow keys.
