Selling Equipment. noone is helpf here :(
So I've decided that I want to give up my studio fancy. -sighs sadly- What I mean by this I'm looking to sell my equipment since I'm really not getting anywhere with it. I have an Audio Technical at2020xlr and scarlet 2i2 interface. After the last post I made about a certain effect...I realized I'm jwants to really he'll aot cut out for this while everyone around me has it so easy. Noone wants to really help anymore and just expect you'll get something. I'm an amateur at this and I catch on pretty quickly to things, but I ask for a simple question and get the most complex answer. "How do I do a stutter effect?" "OH well first you have to use 5 compressors and eq. Then you have to use a synth and vocoder along with melodyne." Geez I asked a simple question man How can I do this? Is what i asked....But then I get a darn essay about compressors melodyne eq vocoders and synths? If you don't want to help then why offer? Because the person who did this effect...DID NOT HAVE TO DO ALL THAT. I'M. CERTAIN https://youtu.be/U5naSRUTzE0?t=3m14sIf I can't even do effects like these...then why should I be even keep going? This person is an amateur and they managed but I get essays as answers? Seriously...

Have you heard of a plug in called GLITCH? Check here: http://freevstplugins.blo...010/11/glitch-vst.html Glitch 1 is a free plug in. I never used it very much but it did a number of effects that are used in hip hop music.... check it out. Nothing fancy or complicated.... you insert it and it does the effect you select from the several it does. Check out the video to see if that's what you're looking for. Essentially, this is a hobby that requires YOU to learn and explore on your own. People can help, some others will simply confuse you with their advice. If you don't understand something, ask.... but realize that the people answering may not understand the issue themselves and offer advice that is worthless. If you have a good studio and enjoy the hobby...stick with it and learn how to do things. Good luck.

Get a groove3 subscription and watch all the Sonar videos.. The more you put in the more you get out if it. Whilst these forums are good they are no substitute for the learning material out there. Go out of your way to understand the tools, patience is a virtue.

One of the forum members once described it nicely: Kamelodic, imagine you are taken to the Abbey Road studios in London (or any high profile professional studio), and told to record a song. What could you do? Most likely you couldn't even get the gear plugged on :o) A modern DAW offers options and possibilities practically equal to a pro studio (and anyway 100 times more than the Abbey Road studios had to offer when the Beatles made their classics). You should be prepared to a learning curve matching that. If you have started your hobby in january this year (looking at your joining date), or something like that, you should be ready to patiently work and study at least a year or two more (depending on how much time you spend with your DAW). Then you might reasonably likely have a solid knowledge of the basics, and start diving into the deeper details. Alone, teaching your ears to hear and analyze the right things when, say, mixing, takes usually years, especially if your studio acoustics and monitor speakers are less than satisfactory. Then there are the laws of physics - phase cancellation and whatever, which kick you in the knee just when you think you got everything under control :o) To learn about different effects and how to use them you simply have to download and test the demos, watch teaching videos, listen to commercial reference songs etc. It takes months and months, there's no shortcut. It's sheer work, although fun as well. Anyway, the faster you want to learn, the more hours you need to spend by your DAW studying in an organised way. I think I've read all your posts now, and I'm sensing that you expected it would be as easy to become a music producer as the music software advertisements say it would be. Well, you're surely not the only one :o). If you can not drop that " if I can't do this now I might as well quit" -attitude your music hobby will only cause you stress, and you'd probably be happier without it. If you can settle with the idea of enjoying the hobby and learning one thing at a time you'll have a source of joy for the rest of your life.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.
