Selling Reason License-Updating from X3 Studio to Producer

Hi!

Back last summer, I purchased Propellerhead Reason 7.  I've come to the conclusion that it's really not for me.  I've heard of people selling their license for it and I'm considering doing that.  Has anybody here ever done anything like that?

After I accomplish that, I'd like to use the money to upgrade from my current version of Sonar X3 Studio to X3 Producer.  I wonder if anybody could guide me through this process.  How much would it cost me to upgrade to Producer?  Sonar is more to my liking on music making than Reason.

Would appreciate any help, tips, etc.

Yes. I sold my copy of Reason 4 via eBay. Presumably you are registered as a user on the Propellerhead site. The buyer will need to register also and let you know his username so that you can transfer the licence to him. I'm assuming that their system has not changed since 2010.

Why sell Reason. You can 'Rewire' it with Sonar giving you added synths and plugins to use with Sonar's *more adept multi-track recorder and sequencer.
    *IMHO

Fair question.  Reason (no pun intended) is economics.  If I'm going to buy Sonar Producer upgrade I can't afford it unless I sell something I can no longer use.  In this case, Reason license.  Reason is a cool DAW and I'm not knocking it, but it doesn't serve my purpose as well as Sonar does.

Well, it looks like a wife/partner in the profile pic.  Isn't there something she wants that you can deny her, so you could keep Reason and still buy Sonar?

Funny you mention that pic, Bob B.  That was a photo booth pic taken on our honeymoon in Niagara Falls.  This coming Saturday (7/19) will be our 34th wedding anniversary.  The unfortunate thing is that I lost that dear lady to cancer this past January.  No offense taken.  Please don't worry about that.  I love that picture of her and wanted to use it as a profile pic to remember her.

That is an AMAZING good run of a marriage - sorry for your loss.  My mom lost my dad to Alzheimer's, and they had been the only partner either had  - for 43 years.  You guys look good together in the picture.  :)

    Sharke-LOL!
Bob B.  That's the way it was for Ellen and I too.  The only partner I ever had, and I was her only too.  She's the only woman I'll ever love.  Thanks for your kindness.

You KNOW you have the SAME John Denver meets Son of Sam haircut that I had from the 70's.

If your needs aren't time-sensitive, a lot of people wait until a special comes along and then pounce on it.

Propellerheads is a company very much like Cakewalk, with cool people. I'm sure if you run into any issues trying to transfer a license, their support will help you out. Companies tend to appreciate people who buy software rather than steal it, and respect the value of a company's work.

And...sorry about your loss. When there's a loss in my life, I try to be grateful for the time I had with that person rather than regret the time I won't have. 34 years of a marriage rocks...congrats to both of you.
