Sends issue

So, I put in a new bus.  I clicked on Sends and added reverb to the bus.   I routed my vocal track to the reverb bus.  There's a volume on the vocal track for the sends.   When I have the volume all the way down to zero, there is still a lot of reverb on the track.  If I turn the volume up, it just adds more.  But I can't get rid of the reverb when I turn the volume down to zero.   
 
I've done this a million times and never had this issue.   Does anyone have an answer as to how to fix this?

If you just want to control the amount of signal sent to the reverb make a send go to the Reverb bus and that should control how much reverb you hear. Make sure your Vocal track is routed to a different bus then the Reverb buss.

So keep the vocal track on the Master bus and use the sends on the vocal track for the reverb bus.  Got it. 
It's been a while since I did this, so I guess I remembered doing it wrong.

Your discription confuses me as it sounds like your adding a buss, and on that buss adding a effects send??
What's normal is to make a new buss, name it reverb and put the reverb plug in in the buss effects bin. 
Now you add that send to your vocal track 
And make sure the send to the reverb buss is not pre fader.. use Post. Pre fader will result in you still hearing the reverb with the track fader down. 
 
 

Yeah, it was confusing the way I did it.  Now I remember how to do it.   It's been a while.   Chalk the confusion up to old age...
