Separating out a combined Midi / Audio VST track

Hope this makes sense....somewhere along the line I experimented with the option to have one VST track combine both the midi and audio...forgot what that was called..."2 Tracks, one Cup...uh..Clip.. "?   I don't know, but saw the error in my ways and the utility of always having discrete midi and audio tracks per soft synth. Anyone know how to split /revert that configuration back to a 2 track model?
Thanks in advance.

Right click in the track header and select "Split Instrument Track" from the menu
