September 11th
I'll never forgot where I was that day. I don't think it was just a tragedy, I think it was a horrendous act of war against this country. I wrote a song later, with Pat Bishop that spoke about the love of country and the dangers our brave young man and women in uniform, in the theater of war, face every day. The possibility exists that they may not return home to their loved ones. Pat put this video together>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch3tBYo2xZQ and of course, the full song is here>>> http://www.soundclick.com...134&songID=7870761 God Bless America

Solid tune. Heartfelt performance comes through on those made in the USA lyrics. I think it’s appropriate on any day, but a day like this in particular. Has a Neil Young vibe on the vocal (which is a good thing). Mary Lynn and I were driving over the Verazanno and Goethals bridges last night – saw the security pulling over the vans and small trucks. Strange days indeed. Good going Herb.

Good stuff, Herb. I only listened to the song, not the video. Prodction is very well done, everything sounds really ballanced. I thought your vocals had a little bit of a Willie sound to them; liked them a lot.

Manny & Mike.... thanks for listening. Glad you enjoyed the song. Strange days that we are living in.... for sure. Seems everyone was freaked yesterday from looking at the news reports from across the USA. I heard they scrambled jets, shut down airports, held lots of people on suspicion, had extraordinarily long security lines at airports and were searching vehicles ...... I have to wonder what would have happened if people would have refused the unreasonable search and demanded the authorities abide by the 4th Amendment to the Constitution: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Isn't that the whole reason our troops are fighting and dying? For the Freedom we have here, and to protect it for the future generations of Americans to enjoy.....? We treat it so carelessly.

Yup, it's me, I'm still alive. Hopefully not as busy as I have been. Nice tune Herb, a very contemporary commercial sound. Good lyrics. Daryl

I don't listen to a lot of this type of music, but it sounds great to me. I could totally hear this in one of the bars my buddies and I used to frequent when in the military.

Hi, Herb, I remember this one from a while back, and it's really a fantastic and very inspirational, traditional country song! Great songwriting and instrumental performances, and excellent vocals in a pro sounding mix, and Pat did a nice job on the short video, too. Thanks for posting it at the perfect time, have a great week, buddy! Bob

Daryl...good to see you're still alive!!! Matthew.. thanks for the listen Bob... I would have missed it if not for my co-writer posting the video link on facebook. I just happened to be knee deep into writing a new song with my co-writer and was working on and thinking about that.

I wish you would allow comments on your Soundclick page. I enjoy leaving people comments on there. Cassie Helms and Sydney Bradbury both have a GORGOUS voice! Your sound quality is really good too. How do you all get your vocals to stand out so well? I have so much trouble with that. Any tips you want to share would be really appreciated. Just a beautiful song, not a whole lot more to say. I see you make some Christian music. I do some too with newwine. He sings psalms and I have put a couple to music so far. I plan on working with him again shortly! I like the lyrics to "I Will Run To You" very much and just the whole feel of the song.
