Serial Number recovery

Does anyone know how to get a serial number once lost...RobertB suggested accessing my web account but I can't find it anywhere. The annoying thing is I'm usually so careful about these things.

    Alan,
Are you saying you can't find your account?
Click "Purchase" at the top of the forum page, and follow the prompts.
It should take you to your personal account, and show serial numbers and registration codes for every item you have registered with Cakwalk, including GTP3.
Make sure you are using the same e-mail address you originally used.

Well the only other 3 places I'm aware of is" the yellow sticker that they put on the back of the sleeve (if you have the box version); an e-mail from cakewalk to confirm or 3 if you put it in to Music Creator when you opened it. I must admit I don't know exactly what you've gone through so far, so I apologize if I'm just repeating what you already know or heard. If it makes you feel any better, I can't get to my account or the stores on line..they said my password is not valid; I've reset it at least 5 times and it still doesn't work. So, I give up.

    Annette

EDIT: Oops, I'm bad...they do have me online now, but nothing is registered...even though I have a registration number for MC 4. I haven't registered SHS 7XL yet, cause I heard it wasn't working. So, I'll take my comments back until I try and register them both.

It would be wonderful if it was as simple as that bob...Absolutely nothing. My own fault for being careless. I though I had the details safe, but it was the Reg and not the serial number.

    Annette,
Unfortunately the twins decided to have a clean out and the MC box went into the bin..They can never leave anything alone especially when they think daddy is being untidy.
As you know, the Cakewalk site just doesn't work for me. I've sent countless emails asking them to fix it but to no avail. I thought it wouldn't have been too much trouble for them to email a serial number to me, but again it doesn't seem high on their priority list.

This is maybe the time to consider upgrading to 7...but hang on, if I can't access the site properly it's unlikely I'll be entitled to the upgrade price and I ain't payin 200 bucks especially with Christmas coming on.

I'll just have to concentrate on becoming a frustrated GTP3 guru.

    Well,
If it means anything, I went ahead and created an account, even though I already registered my copy of MC4. In case for some reason I lose mine it will be in the account information stated above.

Ya know, Beagle has this "special hot line e-mail to the top dog red phone connection that nobody else even comes close to" link that he can just pulll out of his...ear(?).
And somehow, I am not surprised.
    Nope.

Mr Beagle sir, Pretty please sir, Mr Gamblerschoice tells me that you have a bit of clout sir, Can you please please please put a word in the right ear of someone at Cakewalk and beg them to email me my MC4 serial number please sir, Me being of a lowly satus only with 2 stars is just being totally ignored by the powers that be.
It might be because I live in a far off land and they know I can't come round and punch their lights out. Not that I'd want to. I'd merely like to give em a good shake up.
I'm averaging 2 emails a day in the hope that spmeone will get back to me.....

well - I don't really have any clout with these guys - I just know how to contact them when I need to get something done. Like I said in the earlier post, tho, send Willy a PM about it. He's a good guy and tries to get things accomplished. if that doesn't work, then let me know and I have another trick up my sleeve.

Just sent an email off to Willy, Beagle...Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.
Much of the music I produce is for the local church and I'm now in the position of not knowing quite what to do if this fails....Here's hoping!

Alan, I tried to find (and found it!) my serial number for MC Pro 24 on the HD by doing this:
Right-click the start button, choose explore. Expand Program Files, right-click your MC and choose explore. Find and double-click the 'Install' listing. A little ways down you should find the serial number.
