Session Drummer 2 Hip Hop Pack pricing - what gives, Cakewalk?
I'm on the lookout for expansions packs for Session Drummer 2, and have noticed that the Session Drummer 2 Hip Hop Pack on the Cakewalk Store is only $9.99 in the US store. However, on the UK store it's £35.00 - more than the cost of actual plug-in and with the current exchange rate over $57!! Is there a reason of this huge disparity in pricing? Assuming the product is downloaded, am I able to buy it from the US store, even though I'm based in the UK?
Cheers, Gary. Current configuration: Core i3 Laptop / 8GB RAM; Sonar Platinum (replaced with REAPER); Roland Quad Capture interface; Alesis Micron; Roland XP30; Akai Mini MPK; Akai S2000

Because you're british? ;-) This has been done to death and Cakewalk has never answered. It is rather weird pricing considering most of it is done over the internet and good arguements have been made that it ain't the EU or British taxes. Nobody knows. Some people have gotten the lower US price - but only through 3rd party vendors, I think. You could try Cake and see if they let you slip through.

and best of the best in euros Cakewalk store sell it at 56 €. I don't think this is a taxe. It's a mistake but they don't do anything to correct price : 9.99$ = 56 €. Come on, it's a great deal.

Maybe they want to discourage Brits from making hip hop.

Maybe the disparity in pricing is a tariff related issue.

Gary , it's a time old thing.. anything from the US we get stung tax wise.. go look at any US branded stuff in say digital village.. brands like Mackie etc also have had their pricing go up I would wait for it to appear on a monthly special perhaps, it's bound to. I use NI battery instead.. there are lots of drum things.. other companies do drum type things for around that cost though or not much more. if you don't mind doing a bit of programming you can pick up sample packs from other things and use them or just use a sampler and import them into that.. http://www.meldaproduction.com/mdrummer/ the small one might be of interest also. .but go look on KVR there are loads of free drum players even have a look at things like minidrumz http://dskmusic.blogspot.com/p/downloads.html
