Session Drummer 3 Kits: Platinum Samples Andy Johns is quite allright

When Danny Danzi posted his video about audio to midi drums,
I listened again to a couple of audio to midi drum replacements I did with Session Drummer 3.

I do not own a lot of SD3 drum kits.
I have the standard Smartloops, Sonic Reality and Steven Slate kits.
I also bought the Platinum Samples Andy Johns kit at a discount, and I have to tell you:

The Platinum Samples Andy Johns kit sounds far more better.

I did the same! The Andy Johns Kit rocks! It's my go-to kit, now. I still like those Steven Slate sizzle kits, though ...

Sorry ... I just got overly excited about making my first post in this forum. Been lurking for ages, thought it'd be about time to engage fully.

I'll be more careful next time ...

Nothing wrong with that!  IMHO it's something that's always welcome around here.

Yup. It's a very nice sounding and well rounded kit. It puts the included content to shame as far as velocity layers too. I couldn't even use the included content with Fixed Velocity disabled on my padKontrol. It would trigger something super quiet then with a slightly harder tap it would crank up to full and I thought something was wrong with the device. With the AJ it was nice and smooth. I picked it up for $20 when it was on special... but the special had actually finished and Cakewalk had neglected to take it out of the store. They saw my thread asking other users about it and took the special down before I could snag it (much to my chagrin). One of the guys from Platinum Samples saw me freaking out and let me buy it for the special price anyway. Freaking awesome! I'm now on BFD Eco though so I don't use it anymore but it came with the Platinum Samples Rock Legends kit which is another awesome sounding kit that smokes the included BFD content. I'd really like to pick up the Andy John's collections for BFD but they're a little too pricey for my budget at the moment.
