Session Drummer III & Triggers?

I am a newbee to this and need some advise...My staff drummer has 2 sets of drums he uses in the studio...He would like to try his triggers through Session Drummer III but I have no idea on how to hook them up...Does anyone know the hook-up procedure for this..I would really appreciate the info...This would save me a lot of work too...Thanks...

    I forgot...The drummer uses an Alesis D4 that he plugs each trigger into...
