Session drummer foot pedal / FC 7 controller

Hi,

I'm using an Alesis DM5, and would like to add a continuous hi-hat controller like the Roland FD-8, which the the DM5 doesn't support.

I also have a Mackie Control Universal, which has an input for an expression pedal.

I'm wondering if Session Drummer, or any other drum synth, will allow continuous hi-hat foot control via the Mackie controller's pedal input, or any other (USB?) foot pedal.

I would rather avoid simply buying a new drum module.  I am using X1.
