Setting up Plugin folders efficiently?

Hello, Although all of my plugs and stuff are working atm, i think they may be a bit scattered around in various folders and could probably be consolidated or relocated, but i'm not sure how to do that w/o causing problems. Also, I'm pretty sure that i'm running 32 bit versions of a few... AmplitubeFender/Ampeg, ARC and Eddie Kramer Sig. instead of the intended x64. Not certain of how to clean this up. I'd like to update to arc2 today and with X2 on the way, i'm hoping to avoid a big mess. Any house keeping/install tips would be appreciated. Thanks.     Leave them where they are installed to.

    Organize them with The VST2 plugin management utility

    For x64 plugin DLLs, I have them all under C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\VSTPlugins\Plugin Developper Name\Plugin DLL(s). This was done after the fact to do exactly what you are attempting to do..., consolidate in order to manage plugins more efficiently. When done, just rescan plugins with the help of the "Cakewalk Plugin Manager". Works like a charm.

    For 32 bit plugins, the few I have are under  C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\VSTPlugins\Plugin Developper Name\Plugin DLL(s).

    Addition: The "Cakewalk Plugin Manager" searches sub-folders by default, so looking at the above scenario, there's only 2 paths to specify for a search, on top of the default "C:\Program Files\Shared Utilities\Internal" which should not be messed with.

    I do it the same as Alegria.
    2 plug-in folders. 32bit and 64bit.
    And since my memory is shot I do it as I'm installing the plug-in. When it ask's for the .dll path I direct it to either folder. I install everything that can be in 64bit. I only have like 10 plugs that are 32bit.
    One thing I do tho is say I'm installing Amplitube. I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\VSTPlugins and in there I make a new folder named IK Multimedia-32bit. 
    Now all my IK plugs go into that folder. When I'm in Sonar and go to add an effect I right click the fx bin and see all my plugs. Anything that is 32bit has it right in the name. So I'll see IK Multimedia-32bit and in that sub folder that opens is all their plugs.

    This keeps my list shorter and lets me know which plugs are 64 vs. 32.

    So I have a Voxengo folder, a Waves folder, a Softube folder, an IK folder and so on.

    TabSel, that p/i manager sounds too good to be true. Awesome if it works as easy as described. Alegria and chefmike8, I once set up folders like you described. I've got 5 folders that get scanned, the three that X1 made and two that i made. But upon installation of a few things, i think i was unsure of something so i let it go to the folder they chose.
