Setting up US-122mkII interface

I had the Cakewalk UA25-EX and couldn't get decent latency. It was USB 1.1 with a throughput of about 5mb/sec.

Today I  found a good deal on a tascam interface. It's USB 2.0 with a throughput of 480mb/sec. I have downloaded the newest firmware and drivers for the device and win 7 x64.

The latency is horrible even though the drivers are newer and it's on a buss 10x as fast as the old interface. Any ideas? I've been through the archives but most of the issues I read about are from the older version of the interface that didn't support win7x64.

Regards, John

The UA25EX has a switch at the back. Normally, it uses USB 1.1 and works with standard Windows drivers. With the Roland drivers installed and the switch in Advanced, it works with USB 2.

The Tascam has a hardware problem. If you use the guitar input, there is an audible click when the signal theshold LED switches to green.

It manifests itself as a phasing, fizzing sound if you let a guitar note die out. Listen carefully as the level does down and LED goes from green to off.
