Setting up a microphone via Sonar X1

Hi all you microphone-specialists,

two questions concerning the process of setting up a microphone. (I hope they are not too out of line, as this is a Sonar Forum).

1.    I got the "Rode NT1-A". In some tutorial video on Youtube (called "How to set up your audio interface and record audio" in case you want to have a look) I have checked how to set up the mic. It says you first of all need a recording software, and the guy from the tutorial mentions "Presonus Studio One". Now do you really need to have a special recording software ADDITIONALLY or is Sonar X1 just as fine to record Microphone Audio?

2.    Are there any drivers needed that I would have to install before connecting the microphone to the interface and the computer? No driver-software was included with the NT1-a microphone but the bloke from the video mentions that I have to check on the internet for updates --- well, I couldn't finde anything!!....

I'm hoping for some decent answers and will be grateful for any help,
Thx in advance!!

1) SONAR will work fine with the microphone
2) No drivers are needed with the microphone, the audio interface handles all the connection details. The audio interface would require a driver. The microphone does require phantom power.
