Seven years later-Fishing Buchanan Creek

Seven years ago today, I posted the first rendition of Fishing Buchanan Creek. It was a simple guitar arrangement backed by a shimmering synth.
Well, along with some great dialogue here in the songs forum, Eric(Holder of the Horns) Anderson was inspired to play a bass and mandolin part, and asked if I minded. I was honored that he was moved to create something further for this little tune.
Then Kenny (kennywtelejazz) Wilson came on board. I still don't know who was more thrilled, me for having him want to be a part of my little project, or him for being invited in. At any rate, the three of us traded tracks for the next few weeks, and the song evolved into its final form.
Today, after all this time, it is sitting at #126 in the Folk Rock category at Soundclick. I'm not bragging, but I sure have to feel good about that.
The song itself came about one night as I was noodling on my acoustic guitar. I was reminiscing about numerous trips to this favorite stream with my dad. High in the Rockies, it is a small creek that feeds the headwaters of the Colorado River. We'd fish along the five mile hike up to treeline, then turn around and work our way back down. He fished flies, I fished lures.
I haven't been back there for twenty years, but I can still smell the trees and the thin air. Every bend, every waterfall had its own sound.
It was a magical place, and I am immensely pleased with the guys for getting into my mindset.
So, once again, Fishing Buchanan Creek:

Listening now, and it only seems like a few months ago that this was posted. 7 years... Wonder what happened to Eric? Still sounds great Bob, the turnaround always gave me chills.

Bob, Kenny and Eric, Very nice collaboration piece and everything sound just lovely for this piece. Make me want to go fishing up in a mountain spring some where. Nice instrumentation, arrangement and mix. Very nicely done by all.

Peace and Blessings, John

Great sound, number, and performance.  You captured the feeling of being out on the stream.  We used to have a local guy that would give the Tampa Bay fishing report.  He would always sign off by saying that "God does not count the time that you spend fishing against you".  I wonder if that also applies to listening to your song.
Nice one.

Thanks, James. Yes, you did always like that turnaround. You know, this time of year I get reflective. If I die tomorrow, I have three things I can be proud of. My kids, a good marriage, and this song. This year has been tough. Donna has been in the hospital three times( she just got out after the last venture). I haven't been near as productive  as I would have liked in the studio or here in the forums. But 2014 is looking brighter already. Here's to it!

John, It's cool to see you here. Thank you for your comments.
This song was originally posted before you were around.
I think James and I, in particular, really beat you up in the beginning. I t has been a joy to see you grow musically over the years. You have taken some very complex ideas and made them work.
Good on you, and thanks for listening to my little tune.

Freddy thanks for stopping in.
I believe your reporter is correct. One of the great thrills in life is having a fish on the line.
I'm glad you enjoyed the vibe.

Is this the same Robert who was in trouble a few years ago? Who the Beagle helped out?

You didn't respond to a PM sent earlier this evening, but it may not have been seen/received yet.

Really curious because I gave a few hundred bux? I can't remember now, it's been a few years... Just wondering if this is the same guy?

If it is? I would think that a contribution like that would merit a response?

The Robert I'm asking about was fairly Religious at the time? A believer... Again, I may be mistaken? And if so, please forgive me. Am I mistaken? Is this another person?

Yes, I am the same guy. I am forever grateful to those of you that participated in that.
It was one of the most moving events of my time on Earth.
I still enjoy telling the tale to people here in Fort Worth. And I still can't do it without getting a little misty eyed.
If I didn't send you a personal thank you, I apologize for that. I meant to.
I did, however, write several posts in the forums to make sure everyone knew how much I appreciated what they had done for us. You may have missed them.
I don't know much you contributed. Apparently you don't either, as it went from 50 in your first PM to several hundred here.
I don't know how much anybody contributed. They didn't tell me and I didn't ask. That wasn't the point. Individuals from across the country and across the oceans banded together to help a friend in a time of crisis. That was the point, and we were touched deeply by it.
I think Donna summed it up best when we found out what you all had done as we prepared to leave our home for the last time. She dropped to the ground, tears filling her eyes, and said,"I love your friends"
So thank you, Robby, for being a part of that. And thanks again to James for setting it in motion, Reece for collecting the money and putting up with us for three months, and the 45 forum members who gave from the heart.
You made a difference.

That said, If I were not the person you were thinking of, I would be wondering who this whack job stalker who was off his meds  was that was sending me all of these messages.
Luckily, I've been around a while, and I know it's just how you are.

Good times, I'm glad I could help :-) (and I did!) Wasn't sure if you were the same guy or not. Reese was pretty nice to help out the way he did, we all need friends like that. Glad you're doing better.

You listen to and enjoy to my shiz and we'll call it even ;-)

Merry Christmas Robert! I'm really glad things are better :-D

Life throws us curves.... But we can learn to hit curve balls? I don't feel as if I gave anything to you, or to the beag... I feel like I gave it to God? And he did with it what was needed at the time. He is always there speaking? All we have to do is to listen...

I'd better stop this, or I'm going to ruin my bad rep...

And people should listen? He speaks to us all. Sometimes it's a shout? Sometimes it's a whisper... But he speaks to us all. (there's a song in there somewhere...) I just got chills after writing that.

It's a pretty instrumental.

DAMIT! NOW I'M CRYING!

I'm an emotional guy... I'm past it now, but emotions are powerful things? We all experience them. It's why we write songs? If I wasn't emotional, I wouldn't be a song writer.
