Several minor problems with Platinum
I have these little minor problems with my SONAR Platinum. The first 3 problems I had also experienced with X3 Producer. Anyone know how I can fix these? 1. On certain tracks the input changes from "none" to "Left Ch. Input" (of my audio interface). I have to continuously click these back to "none" to avoid unwanted noise. 2. On certain MIDI tracks (I believe it's tracks I had previously used "take lanes", even though I delete all except one lane), the mute/solo buttons (in the lane) have to be clicked or the MIDI track will not sound. This happens every time I freeze a track or save the project. 3. When I want to load a new project from the Project Template menu, double-clicking will not work. I must type in the full file name to open it. 4. All of my projects open with (*) already there, so already need to be saved or need to remember if I've made any changes. Collectively, these minor problems turn into "hassle". Would appreciate your HELP! Thanks ahead

Bummer - those I have not happened to see yet. I had a thought on your 'input' issue. Could you mute those tracks or click the input echo off? Bob Bone

Just to say problem number 4 I've had since X3 I have reported it to Sonar and they gave me a work around. Depending on how large your projects are you may just leave them that way. I'm still looking to find the cause one thing I have found is that Sonar can become unstable and in that state it can still load, edit and play when you save and exit then come back to that project most likely you will see the *. What I do to get around this is every hour or so I close Sonar and reopen it.

This is a USB I/F yes? have you tried a different USB port? I would be surprised that you get noise from your I/F I have an AudioBox USB on my studio second machine which if I turn up everything I can hear a little USB bus noise but at normal levels it is fine. On certain MIDI tracks (I believe it's tracks I had previously used "take lanes", even though I delete all except one lane), the mute/solo buttons (in the lane) have to be clicked or the MIDI track will not sound. Sorry not seen this Anonymungus! 3. When I want to load a new project from the Project Template menu, double-clicking will not work. I must type in the full file name to open it.
Are you using per project folders if you are you need to provide a project name before opening a new project, then select a template and click OK Anonymungus! 4. All of my projects open with (*) already there, so already need to be saved or need to remember if I've made any changes. Collectively, these minor problems turn into "hassle". I have seen this with some but not all projects are they older X3 or older projects? It could be that if they are there is some file structure changes that the software detects consequently requesting a save to implement those changes.

As there are multiple issues on this thread (in problem reports forum we need one thread = one reproducible issue) with no step to repro as of yet (probably needs troubleshooting first) I'm moving this to Sonar forums...

I have this sort of issue with my main outputs changing by them selves...which causes audio to not play back ..and other Asio issues...even making my ASIO device not default player in WIN 8.1 has not truly solve for, but I work around. I have to reset in Sonar Pref, to WMD or other, select apply, and change it back to get control of it, then make the change in the track...otherwise nothing helps but a restart....I did try saving once, and then shutting down, and restarting and it worked. So not sure what is causing this now either...I tried all things I know of...still has a bit of a bug somewhere, in OS, or Program... Hope it helps someone look deeper than MS updates...I thought caused it....still do.

(4) has been identified previously. Several people thought it was because a plug-in might exhibit a parameter value change naturally, e.g., if it includes something like a step sequencer that opens up running or has some random signal processor. I can't confirm or deny, just passing along what others thought.

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. On the issue of (#2) having to open up the take lanes to turn SOLO back on, I'm gonna assume this was caused by the fact that these projects I'm referring to are OLDER (from X2, I believe). I think this might be the case with my #1 issue also. Wookiee had a good solution for my #3 problem, typing in a project name first, then click open a template. I tried this and it works! Thanks Wookiee. My #4 regarding (*) when I open a project, it's there, even when I first start SONAR (normal/untitled), it's there. Oh well, carry on - May the INSPIRATION be with you
